These qualifications are designed for those learners wishing to support their role in the workplace, specifically in relation to understanding the principles of equality, diversity and human rights.
The government published the 'Prevent' strategy in 2011 as part of its overall counter-terrorism strategy. 'Prevent' duty guidance was put into place and as a result, all education and skills providers in England must have due regard to the need to 'Prevent' people from being drawn into terrorism. Part of this is to ensure that learners have a good understanding of the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance for those with different faiths and beliefs.
